Tree House Books provides after-school programs for local children to explore learning in fun, creative ways that encourage a lifelong relationship with education, reading, and each other. The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program unites artists and communities through a collaborative process, rooted in the traditions of mural-making, to create art that transforms public spaces and individual lives. Assistant Teaching Artists support lead teaching artists in classroom management and the execution of lesson plans. Qualifications: 1-2 years teaching experience with under-served youth and/or middle and/or high school students; Knowledge of art history and art-making techniques; Ability to engage youth with multiple learning styles and multiple intelligences; Willingness to work collaboratively and in partnership with parents, program managers, lead teaching artists, student advocates, and artists; Access to reliable transportation; Up-to-date PA Child Abuse Report, PA Criminal Background Check, and FBI Check upon interview. Compensation: $15 per hour, 20 hours per week. Taller Puertorriqueño is seeking artists interested in teaching part-time classes in the visual and performing arts to children and youth grades K- 8th. In September – December, January – June and/or Summer during after-school hours from 2:30 – 5:30pm. The teaching artist will lead visual art classes to groups of 15-20 children and/or youth. Gregory Interdenominational School of Music, Inc. is a non-profit, community based institution established to provide a safe, creative facility where at risk and special needs youth can experience social, cognitive and cultural development through music and the performing arts in the underserved community of North Philadelphia and surrounding communities. Philadelphia Parks & Recreation is looking for interested teachers and artists to teach youth ages 8-17 for their Summer camp. The camp runs Monday-Friday, 9-3pm from July 1st- August 20th. They are looking for teachers in either painting, drawing, sculpture, or photography.
