Bio

Alyssa Franklin is an Arts Administrator, Theatre Artist, and Arts Educator. She is currently the Director of Education for Girls First, a non-profit organization that builds SEL skills through arts integration utilizing a trauma-informed approach.

Previously she was the K-12th Grade Theatre Teacher and Director at Chester Charter Scholars Academy (CCSA) in the city of Chester, PA. She also served as the Cultural Arts Department Mentor Teacher at the school. Alyssa’s other past work experiences include the Please Touch Museum, Walnut Street Theatre, Darlington Arts Center, Emerson College, ArtsEmerson, The Creative Living Room, Theatre Horizon, and Wolf Performing Arts Center.

She has her M.A. in Theatre Education from Emerson College with a Massachusetts Educator Licensure in PreK-12 Theatre. Alyssa’s passions include arts integration and utilizing the arts to encourage social emotional learning, and she takes an interdisciplinary approach to her teaching by incorporating theatre, dance, music, and visual art into her curriculum.

Alyssa also enjoys dabbling in poetry, photography, and painting.
