Bio

I am a first-generation Mexican-American artist originally from Houston, Texas, with a background in photography, ceramics, fibers, and other craft-based arts. My path into education started at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston and eventually brought them to Philadelphia, where I am now the Lead Teaching Artist for Youth Arts Workshop at Asian Arts Initiative. I work mostly with youth ages 10–14, creating space where art feels approachable, relevant, and in which young people can see themselves in their work and find their own creative voice. Cultural identity, community, language, and personal history all find their way into my teaching practice. I believe making art and understanding where you come from are deeply connected.

Arts. Community. Transformation.
