Bio

Seana Higgins is an artist, educator, and advocate from northern Kentucky. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, she received a BFA in both ceramics and art education from the University of Illinois in 2008, and an MFA in ceramics in 2016 from Ohio University. For eight years, Seana has been the Education Director for Visionaries + Voices, a local nonprofit organization that supports adult artists with disabilities. In her personal work, Seana explores humor as it relates to the human experience through drawing, painting, and sculptural media. In 2016, Seana worked as a puppet fabricator for the productions of the Little Mermaid and Mister Punch with Jesse Mooney-Bullock of Moonbull studio. She has held short term visual arts residencies at Red Lodge Clay Center, Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts, and the International Ceramics Studio in Kecskemet, Hungary. Seana has exhibited nationally since 2008, most recently at Wave Pool gallery during the Out and Through exhibition in March 2025. She lives with her partner and two stepkids in Union, KY, and is a big fan of birds, dogs, and talking about feelings.
