Bio

Yasmine Ameli (she/her) is a queer biracial Iranian American creative writer, fiber artist, and arts educator. She teaches creative writing workshops and the business of thriving as an artist both through community organizations, including Grub Street and Assets for Artists, and offers holistic writing coaching for writers and artists seeking guidance on cultivating sustainable practices. As an educator, she is passionate about demystifying the writing process, providing writers with the craft tools they need to tell their stories, increasing access to writing and publishing resources, and providing providing trauma-informed education. Her creative writing appears in Poetry Magazine, The Sun,The Southern Review, and elsewhere; and she is the author of the monthly newsletter Word Play: Your Guide to a Sustainable Writing Life

When she is not writing or teaching, Yasmine is crocheting, embroidering, foraging, flower-pressing, beading, collaging, papermaking, junk journaling, and jewelry making. She sells her crafts in Philadelphia and online.
