Who we are, what we bring, and how we relate creates the impact of the experience we provide to our participants, no matter their age.
This interactive workshop led by Mae Early, Bartol’s Trauma-Informed Practice Training Consultant, will help teaching artists identify, articulate, and consider how to communicate the foundations of their practice as an educator with students, community partners, and the organizations they work for. First, we’ll examine our authentic educator practice and style through exercises inspired by Bartol Trauma-Informed Practice facilitator, Bets Charmelus. Then, we’ll use our findings as a foundation to explore ways to activate our practice in our curriculum and relational interactions, negotiate with site partners, and even discuss practices with employers.
