The Bartol Foundation provides grants to the Arts community in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  This includes grants to Arts Organizations,  Teaching Artist Micro-Grants and the annual George Bartol Art Education Award.

2CentsInc, (formerly Mad Beatz) is dedicated to honoring the tradition of percussion and lyricism in Black and Latinx communities, celebrating Black Americans' contribution to popular music, and diversifying music education in Philadelphia by training musicians from our very own communities to be teachers, classroom leaders, and curriculum planners.

Acting Without Boundaries

General Operating Support/Arts Education ($6,000)

Acting Without Boundaries (AWB) transforms lives and builds self-esteem in an empowering community of people with physical disabilities through performing arts programs that celebrate ability. AWB challenges participants’ caregivers, volunteers, and audiences’ perceptions about people with disabilities and their capabilities, through year-round programs and workshops that build confidence on-stage and beyond.

Arts without Boundaries

Arts without Boundaries' provides access to high-quality performing arts education and opportunities for young people, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status, with the goal of fostering creativity, self-expression, and personal growth.

Beyond The Bars is a student-driven music and career skills program that is dedicated to interrupting the cycles of violence and incarceration while helping its students recognize their immense potential.

Eleone Dance Theatre

Future is Us Collective

Project Support ($6,000)

The Future is Us Collective provides free platforms for emerging artists to showcase their artworks while giving young Philadelphians a safe space to enjoy the arts. In addition to exhibitions, we facilitate public programming for young creatives with a primary goal of radical healing, cultivating spaces where participants can collectively process trauma and share knowledge through art making.

International Ballet Exchange

Marison Rosa-Shapiro (she/her) is a theatre teaching artist. Marisol will use her grant to seek professional development training for her "Read Me a World Project".

Chinese Opera Society of Philadelphia Bartol Award Grantee 2023

The Chinese Opera Society of Philadelphia is the 2023 Winner of the George Bartol Arts Education Award.

The Award of $5,000 is given to an organization that provides sustained, meaningful participation in the arts; that demonstrates an active engagement in the lives of its students and community; and that maintains high artistic standards for its faculty and students.
