Kulu Mele African Dance & Drum Ensemble

Kulu Mele African Dance & Drum Ensemble exists to preserve, present, and transmit the traditional dance and music of Africa and the African diaspora while honoring and advancing contemporary African American culture. The organization’s primary focus is to use cultural expression as a means of education, healing, and community building. Through performance, instruction, and community engagement, Kulu Mele creates accessible pathways for people of all ages to connect with ancestral traditions, strengthen cultural identity, and foster collective empowerment.
