Increasingly, artists are playing key roles in building strong communities. Artists can add to the vibrancy of public spaces, build bridges among neighbors, and contribute to revitalization of commercial corridors. Join community developers and artists for an interactive peer-learning session that explores the intersections of our work. Hear from successful artist/community development partnerships who will share strategies for identifying partners, defining common goals and projects implementation, as well as talk about the challenges of these partnerships. Learn about PACDC’s Third Space initiative and LISC’s Creative Placemaking Initiative, both two-year projects to strengthen creative placemaking in Philadelphia at the neighborhood scale through collaborations between CDCs and artists. Come ready to add your experience to the conversation and leave with more tools, networks and resources for your own communities.
