Teaching All of Your Students: Sensory, Social and Cognitive Disabilities 101

As teaching artists, our goal is to include all of our participants in arts experiences that suit their abilities and capacities. Led by Roger Ideishi, Program Director & Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy at Temple University and Charlie Miller, Deputy Director of Bartol grantee Art-Reach (both advocates for arts access for all), this session will share strategies to build meaningful learning experiences for children with diverse sensory and cognitive abilities. We will start with basic definitions, learn about differentiated and adaptive learning, and then analyze how you can apply this knowledge to your own teaching artist practice.
