Bio

Anaiah Davis is a Brooklyn-born filmmaker and musician residing in Philadelphia. Born to Trinidadian parents, she spent most of her childhood in the arts, bouncing across dance, music, and theater. Yet once coming of age, she suddenly fell in love with the art of filmmaking and video production. It wasn’t long before Anaiah started taking every opportunity available to express herself through the lens of a camera, learning and completing internships based in photography and documentary. She would also help cultivate her peers in their own creative endeavors, working as a student manager for the WHYY Media Labs at her Philadelphian high school, the Science Leadership Academy at Beeber.

After journeying abroad to attain her BA in film from the University of East London, then MA in Film, Television and Moving Image from the University of Westminster, Anaiah returned home to empower the younger, up-and-coming generations of video and media making prodigies, hoping to support them in redefining what it means to tell a story through video, audio, and media production in the same Media Labs program she was once a part of. She also works as an advisory board member for Science Leadership Academy’s Occupational Advisory Committee, a volunteer coordinator for The Woman’s Film Festival, and continues to try to use film to discuss her own mental health, culture, and hardships as a first-generation American.
