Bio

Maggie Phillips is an educator, artist, and performer based in Philadelphia, PA. With over a decade of experience teaching and coaching in both academic and artistic settings, she has presented her research and creative work at conferences and showcases nationally and internationally. In her current creative practice, Maggie explores circus aerial performance, working primarily on lyra, pole, and trapeze.

By day, Maggie serves as the Chief Program & Partnerships Officer at ArtistYear, where she designs and leads the organization’s national teaching artistry programming and training. In this role, she develops systems that support ArtistYear’s 85 teaching artists across nine regions in eight states. Her work centers on ensuring programs remain deeply aligned with ArtistYear’s mission: expanding meaningful creative learning opportunities for K–12 students in communities across the country – from rural to urban, and everywhere in between.

In addition to her organizational leadership, Maggie consults with nonprofits, arts organizations, and governmental entities on creative program design and arts administration. Her consulting work focuses on trauma-informed practice, culturally responsive teaching, and arts integration, helping organizations and institutions build learning environments where creativity, equity, and student well-being are at the center.
