Personal Values

I enter every teaching space as an empath, guided by a belief that art can reveal what words cannot. My practice centers on creating gentle, open environments where each person can explore their inner landscape with safety and curiosity. I honor people as they are, trusting that authentic expression is a pathway to healing. Through visual art, I invite participants to listen to themselves, to experiment, to uncover resilience and truth.

Bio

I am an empathic artist and educator who came to this work by finally allowing myself to become who I have always been. For much of my life, I believed that my sensitivity and intuitive nature were traits I needed to hide to succeed in the world as it is traditionally defined. I built a career shaped by external expectations, creating a life that looked complete from the outside, yet left me disconnected from my truest self. It took years of reflection to understand that my empathy was not a hindrance but a gift, one that could support others and allow me to live with deeper purpose.
My journey took an unexpected turn when I became a massage therapist. In that practice, my empathic and energetic abilities surfaced in ways I could no longer ignore. I witnessed the impact of compassionate presence, and I learned how profoundly people could shift when they felt safe enough to be fully themselves. At the same time, I discovered the importance of boundaries and self-care, lessons that later shaped my trauma-informed approach as a teaching artist. Although I ultimately stepped away from bodywork and returned to leadership roles in the startup and technology sectors, something essential within me remained unresolved and waiting.
The pandemic was the catalyst that transformed everything. In a time of collective uncertainty, I picked up a paintbrush for the first time in any real way, convinced I was not an artist but curious enough to try. What emerged surprised me. Painting became a form of energetic release, a way to translate the emotions, sensations, and interactions I absorbed into color, texture, and form. I discovered a visual language that allowed me to process the world instead of carrying it.
As an artist, I work from intuition and energy, often beginning with no plan, letting patience, presence, and curiosity guide me. I explore how small, intentional moments build toward something interconnected and meaningful, mirroring the process of healing itself. As a teaching artist, I bring this philosophy into every space I facilitate. I create environments grounded in trauma-informed principles, where safety, choice, and non-judgment are foundational. I invite participants to explore their internal landscapes without pressure or expectation, trusting that art has the power to reveal, regulate, and restore.
I believe in honoring people exactly as they are. I aim to support individuals in discovering their own creative voice, whether they are processing a difficult experience, seeking self-expression, or simply learning to trust their intuition. I work with all ages, and as a mother of two boys, I feel especially joyful nurturing the imaginative worlds of children, who often remind us how naturally creativity flows when given room.
My path has taken me through many versions of myself, but teaching through art has brought me home. In this work, I can offer empathy without losing myself, create structure without limiting imagination, and hold space for healing through the transformative act of making.
