“We bring radical joy to the world of theatre in non-traditional spaces and invite our neighbors to use their freedom of expression by taking up space with our bodies, our language, our cultures, and our stories.”

The Bartol Foundation makes grants to Philadelphia arts organizations and/or projects that focus on arts education programs by and for the communities they serve through:
Bartol provides professional development programs for teaching artists to help make them better teachers and stronger entrepreneurs. Programs are available for artists in all disciplines.
Workshops are developed in direct response to the needs of teaching artists, combining discipline-based sessions with training in marketing and partnerships, all with a trauma-informed lens. Artists in all disciplines, in Philly and beyond, are welcome to join us.
The Bartol Foundation offers training to organizations in trauma-informed practices for teaching artists, arts education administrators, arts education university students and faculty. Workshops range from 4 hours to a full 20-hour training based on your needs and budget. Each workshop is designed to combine the theory of how trauma affects the brain, trust and behavior with specific applications for your community or art form.
If you are outside of Philadelphia and interested in opportunities for this training, find more information here about bringing this training to your community.
