We Support Teaching Artists
The Bartol Foundation supports the professional development of teaching artists as the most direct way to improve the quality and reach of the region’s arts education programs.
"There aren’t a lot of other programs that cater specifically to the work that we do and it’s important to have a community to share with…and work together to become a larger cohort of a family we are creating."
Subscribe to our newsletter and receive notifications of Workshops, Trauma-Informed Practice Training and Grant opportunities.
Bartol provides free professional development programs for teaching artists to help make them better teachers and stronger entrepreneurs. You don’t have to be associated with a grantee to participate in these programs and programs are available for artists in all disciplines.
Workshops are developed in direct response to the needs of teaching artists, combining discipline-based sessions with training in marketing and partnerships, all with a trauma-informed lens. Artists in all disciplines, in Philly and beyond, are welcome to join us.

Trauma-Informed Practice Training (TIPTA)
The Bartol Foundation is committed to supporting teaching artists as they navigate the ways in which the young people in their programs may be impacted by trauma.
As part of our support for teaching artists, the Bartol Foundation partners with the Marrazzo Family Foundation to make Teaching Artist Micro-Grant awards of $1,000 to help Philadelphia-based teaching artists complete community-based arts education projects that are underway and/or to support their own professional development as a teaching artist.
