Juntos

Juntos is a community-led, Latine, immigrant organization in South Philadelphia fighting for our human rights as workers, parents, youth, and immigrants. Through Guachinangos Youth Music Academy, we work with a collective of musicians who are immigrants, culture bearers, and activists working to preserve traditional Latin American music styles, fuse Mexican folkloric music with Afro-Colombian rhythms, and mentor the next generation of Latinx youth. Duwenavue Santé Johnson (she/her) is a hand-embroidery artist offering a series of community-based workshops that transforms individual narratives into a unified textile work at Cherry Street Pier.

Julie Lipson (they/them) is a musician and music therpist will offer a creative play-based voice workshop for adults who identify under the trans umbrella (trans, nonbinary, etc) at the Rotunda.
Josh Robinson
Josh Robinson (he/him) is a percussionist who will attend an intentive sound healing retreat as professional development to expand his toolbox for working with grieving children and at-risk youth communities.
Ro Adler
Ro Adler (they/them) is a visual artist who will attend printmaking classes in Southwest Philadelphia as professional development for multi-generational workshops focused on activism and social justice in their community.
Shannon Brooks
Shannon Brooks (they/she) is a performance artist hosting an accessible movement and sound workshop series at TechOWL’s Community Hub.

Charles Dashiell (he/him), a master Capoeira teacher, will purchase uniforms for students to wear in his Capoeira Fitness Program, taking place at Philadelphia recreation centers.

Acting Without Boundaries
Acting Without Boundaries is the 2024 Winner of the George Bartol Arts Education Award.
The Award of $5,000 is given to an organization that provides sustained, meaningful participation in the arts; that demonstrates an active engagement in the lives of its students and community; and that maintains high artistic standards for its faculty and students.
